Event details

Based in Co. Waterford, Ireland, laying down legendary and contemporary blues as they were meant to be with passion and intensity.

From the smouldering, silky soft blues that whisper to your soul to the raw power of sledgehammer songs, we will take you on one hell of a musical journey. At every gig we shake your booty, rattle your soul, and send you home wishing you were as badass as the music!  The Blackwater Blues Band brings you the blues as it was meant to be played, with passion, commitment, and soul.

If rhythm and blues is your thing, then come see them live, where the music will knock you down, pick you up, dust you off, and do it to you all over again, all night long.   Rooted in the heart of the Déise, the Blackwater Blues Band brings together seasoned musicians with a shared passion for blues in all its gritty, soulful forms.

Featuring powerhouse vocalist Hawk (performed with an Irish band in Philadelphia in the 90s), whose emotive delivery gives new life to blues classics, and guitar virtuoso Malcolm Scott, whose career spans collaborations with legends like Pete Brown (Cream), Elliott Randall (Steely Dan), and Mick Taylor (the Rolling Stones).

Bassist Liam Shanley (his dad Tom hailed from the famous Shanley’s Music Pub in Clonakilty, West Cork) and drummer Kevin Power form a rhythm section steeped in rock and blues history (back in the day, U2 played support to his band The Facets), delivering grooves that are both deep and danceable.

Together, they create a dynamic, authentic blues experience — full of passion, chemistry, and a love for live performance.
