A Nostalgic Summer Feast of Flavour, Funk & Fizz

Get ready to turn up the volume and dial back the years — Beats, Bites & Bubbles is coming to John Roberts Square this Sunday, 7th September, for an unforgettable evening of retro revelry and open-fire feasting.

Set around o communal tables for 60–70 guests, this one-night-only event brings the sights, sounds, and flavours of the 1980s roaring back to life. A live DJ will be spinning classic 80s anthems all evening, while our waiting staff serve in full throwback style. Expect big hair, bold looks — and even bolder flavour.

At the heart of the evening are five incredible chefs cooking live over fire, each bringing their own unique flair to a rolling menu of flavour-packed small plates:

Pat and Jim from Smokin’ Soul — BBQ legends bringing their signature smokehouse magic and expert fire mastery. Expect fire, flavour, and seriously good meat.

Alistair JD Jeje from Socafrokitchen — delivering bold, soulful Afro-Caribbean dishes with spice, heat, and heart.

Luis Martin of Mara — fusing Mediterranean influences into fresh, vibrant plates that celebrate simplicity and balance.

Keith Boyle — Waterford’s own fine dining talent, adding polish and precision with refined dishes full of seasonal creativity.

And just maybe… a surprise guest chef might make an appearance too. Who knows who’ll show up behind the flames?

This is more than a dinner — it’s a high-energy celebration of fire, food, fizz and funk, right in the heart of the city.
