Heavy Lungs formed in Bristol in early 2017 through bassist James Minchall and vocalist Danny Nedelko.[1][2] Nedelko and Minchall had worked together, and began recording music together, later recruiting local Bristol musicians, Oliver Southgate and George Garratt to round out the band.[3] In 2018, the band released their debut extended play, Abstract Thoughts.
In late 2018, the lead singer became the subject of a song bearing his name, created by fellow Bristol-based band IDLES. They released the track "Danny Nedelko" as the lead single from their second album, Joy as an Act of Resistance.
Bucket released ‘Hash Browns’ in early 2025, the cardinal single from their eagerly anticipated debut EP, ‘Muck’. The record’s release followed an industrious year for the band, driven by their increasingly infamous live shows across Ireland, the Netherlands, and France.
Following suit to 2024 singles ‘Budgie’ and ‘Who Knows?’, Hash Browns tells of two men, two breakfasts, and not nearly enough hash browns to go around. Driven by chugging drums and a rumbling, lopsided bassline, Hash Browns brings the band's signature chaos into full focus. Piercing guitars whirl frantically as the aggressive vocals tear through the tension, narrating a petty, yet primal, confrontation over the beloved breakfast side dish.
