Experience the magic of Ger Wolfe, one of Ireland’s most cherished singer-songwriters, as he returns to Bandon Folk Club for a special night of music and song.

Ger Wolfe is celebrated for his gentle voice and poetic songwriting, weaving together strands of traditional and contemporary folk. With a career spanning over 25 years, his songs-like the beloved “The Curra Road”-have become staples of the Irish folk scene, praised for their grace and heartfelt simplicity. This spring, Ger takes to the road with his highly anticipated tenth album, Songs from Freeman’s Ballyvourney Collection. The album draws from rare traditional songs collected in the Múscraí Gaeltacht, County Cork, by A. Martin Freeman in 1913–14, later revived by Seán Ó Riada in the 1960s. The lead single, “Fáinnín geal an lae,” arrives March 14th, offering a fresh take on a classic Irish anthem.

The opening performance of the night will be Breeda Murphy with Deirdre Archbold. The vulnerability found in the music of Breeda Murphy traces back to the ballads she grew up listening to. Steeped in the tradition of songs and singers where stories are told, and the voice is centre stage. The title of her album - You Keep a Weather Eye, recorded in Ireland, Dubai and Chicago reflects an artist who attempts to help us discover what is real about ourselves.
